A Room
今晩は, Makie-desu!
It's been a while since any of us posted a music video in this blog. Therefore, on behalf of everyone here at 'Thank You My Teens' I decided to post one of Ubaydah's favorite songs of all time.
It's 'A Room' by YUI with translation by beagoodgirl87 obtained from her (I think it's a her) YouTube channel. It's a great translation if you ask me.
Hope you enjoy the video!

Hari Raya 2012
Hello there!
I told you I'll be back didn't I?
As promised, I'm going to talk about Ubaydah's Hari Raya trip to El Dorado Park in Long Beach on August 19, 2012.
The Hari Raya (Eid) prayer and celebration were made possible by MIFNA (Malaysian Islamic Foundation of North America) and attended by mostly the Malay community in Southern California.
This would be Ubaydah's 6th Raya celebration in the United States (even he can't believe he's been here this long).
Even though it was short, Ubaydah told me that it was both fun and memorable. =D
Here are a few pictures from the event:
Salam Aidil Fitri courtesy of MIFNA
The agenda
Ubaydah and his roommate, Malik
Nadiah and Ubaydah's brother, Bear
Look at all the attendees!
*cough* excuse me. =P
I guess that should be it for now.

Salam Eidul Fitri~ =D
Hi everyone!
久しぶり!
The last time anyone ever posted on this blog was in June. That was a long long time ago~~
I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all
Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri!
Maaf zahir & batin!
Hopefully you all will have a wonderful Eid celebration if you are celebrating it.
Eid in the US will be tomorrow on the 19th.
Ubaydah is planning on going to Long Beach for the Eid prayer. It'll be a long way drive but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
Hopefully I'll be able to post a few pictures of the event soon!
Drive safely tomorrow, Ubaydah!
If any of you guys are travelling to see your family members and friends for Eid, take care! =)
I'll write again soon!
By the way, Ubaydah bought a new set of bedding for Eid.
It's blue! One of his favorite color! =P

Ubaydah's memorable birthday
Hi there!
My name is Kagami!
It was Ubaydah's birthday a few days ago (May 30, 2012).
Happy Birthday, Ubaydah!
Today, I am just going to post pictures of his birthday presents.
The gift wrapped in blue was given by **** :-)
The card signed by everyone and was given to Ubaydah at the Malaysian Student Assc. Grand Banquet.
The stuff from the blue wrapper. They are the characters from one of Ubaydah's favorite anime: Lucky Star.
The red card came with the gift wrapped in blue.
Thanatos from the video game: Persona 3. It was given to Ubaydah by his roommate.
Thanatos from another angle.
Bowling shoes, a jacket, and a shirt given by Ubaydah's friends.
Ubaydah had a great birthday. He wanted me to thank everyone involved in making Ubaydah's birthday so memorable.

It's soccer in the US!
今晩は, Makie-desu!
For the past few weeks, Ubaydah has been participating in a soccer tournament (yes, it's called soccer instead of football in the United States). The tournament is actually the Cal Poly Pomona Intramural soccer league. His team, 'Camtat' (for non-Malay speakers, please don't ask what it means) has gone through the group stage and is now in the play-off. Here's a summary of his team's results in the group stage:
Game 1: 5-1 (W)
Game 2: 5-3 (W)
Game 3: 9-3 (W)
Game 4: 7-0 (W)
So far, they've won all games and is currently ranked #1 in their group. Ubaydah actually made the first team (even though his performances haven't been that consistent).
Guess what position Ubaydah's playing?
As you may have already guessed, he's the goalkeeper. His teammates are mostly Malaysian, one Japanese, one from India, and one Mexican American.
In term of size and height, Ubaydah's team may be the smallest (so far). However, they did manage to win against bigger and stronger opponents (who are mostly Americans) using quick passes and great positioning.
The play-off is in two weeks time and they will then fight against stronger and faster opponents.
All the best to Camtat.

It's May already???
Helloooo~~
Haruhi-desu!
Spring time is about to meet an end. So what does that means?
Graduation time!!!
A lot of Ubaydah's friends are going to graduate here in Cal Poly Pomona including his 'significant other'~ =P
They are either going back to Malaysia, looking for a job here in the United States, or furthering their studies. I think all three choices have their own merits so it doesn't really matter what they decide to choose.
Due to this, there may be a few people who will move into Ubaydah's place. Because of this, Ubaydah cleaned and reorganized his room so that other people can move in. The room that was made a sanctuary by Ubaydah is going to have visitors soon. Therefore, Ubaydah moved some stuff around and made a little nook for himself.
The room was his own for a while now. So he has a LOT of stuff to move around. He told me that it wasn't easy finding places and spaces to put his stuff but he managed to do it. The room can now be occupied by two or even three people now. The pictures that you saw on top was actually only half of the whole room.
Good job there! =)
Speaking of graduation, Ubaydah's probably going to graduate next Spring or at least a quarter before next Spring. He's currently working hard on his research and hopefully he can get his name on at least two published scientific research articles before he graduates.
If you are graduating this quarter (or the Summer *wink*), all the best and hold on okay! The efforts will be worth it! =)
頑張って!!!

A CSU in the middle of nowhere...
Yo, Shana-desu!
It has been a while since any one of us wrote anything in here.
So here goes!
A few weeks ago, Ubaydah went to CSU (California State University) Channel Islands in Camarillo, California. He went there with two of his friends and an acquaintance. According to Ubaydah, it was quiet as hell and surrounded by nothing but farmlands and mountains. It was pretty small too. However, it was also peaceful and serene according to Ubaydah.
The reason he went there was to accompany one of his friends who was supposed to present a poster about his research. They went to a Chemistry conference, or something like that.
As you can see, the university is surrounded by farmlands and mountains. The campus is actually behind those mountains that you see in the picture above.
Look at how empty the campus was. Well, it was probably because it was the Easter holiday.
That's Ubaydah and one of his friends, Abid. Coincidentally, a family happen to walk by as the picture was taken.
They went to the Camarillo Premium Outlets afterward and Ubaydah bought a pair of futsal shoes since he usually play futsal every Friday night.
After that, they went to a restaurant by the beach along with Ubaydah's brother and Nadiah.
It was a very awesome place to eat. They have a variety of seafood cuisines. Ubaydah had the steamed clams with butter sauce. It was super awesome according to him.
Just wanna add something, an awesome thing recently happened to Ubaydah and he's really happy about it. On behalf of everyone here, congratulations and hopefully you won't mess this up. Haha, just kidding~
But seriously though, we are very happy for you and we know you are too.

Yo!
Yo, Shana here!
This would be my first time "contributing" to this blog.
Well, today Ubaydah made breakfast after some time going to school and work without breakfast. He always skips breakfast and waits until dinner before he'd have some food. He always survives in school with coffee and occasional donuts which I think is unhealthy. You shouldn't skip breakfast okay Ubaydah?
Anyways, he made an English breakfast after he woke up at 2 p.m. (=_=')
It's pretty cool. There're scrambled eggs with mushrooms, hot dogs, and croissants.
He went to work afterward. Hopefully he can wake up earlier next time and have a proper breakfast.
Well, I think that should be it for now. I just want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you guys. In case you are wondering, I'm actually his Kindle Fire.

Lasagna 101
Due to popular demand (actually only one person suggested this), Ubaydah asked me to post something about how to make a lasagna! =D
Here are what you need:
1) The sauce
2) Lasagna noodles
3) The cheese
4) A baking pan
5) An oven
What to do:
1) Making the sauce
The sauce can be made in several different ways. You can either make it from scratch or use pre-made ones. You typically use sauces you would use in spaghetti such as creamy alfredo sauce or classic tomatoes sauce. Cream sauce works best with chicken and seafood (tuna, salmon, shrimps, etc.) while tomatoes sauce works best with red meat such as beef and it can work well with chicken too.
Ubaydah made some cream sauce using canned mushroom soup and milk mixed with sauteed mushrooms and garlic together with mozzarella cheese. The sauce was also seasoned with some black peppers, white peppers, basil leaves, italian seasoning, and parsley flakes.
2) The lasagna noodles
Lasagna noodles can be found in most grocery stores. There's no need for you to boil them first before using them. You can straight away put them in the baking pan together with the sauce.
3) The cheese
Ubaydah likes to use mozzarella cheese because of the color and texture of the cheese. Mozzarella cheese is very sticky when mixed into the sauce which is perfect and it also gives a golden brownish color when baked. Other kind of cheese works too.
4) The steps:
(a) Put a little bit of the sauce at the bottom of the baking pan so that the lasagna noodles would be coated with sauce on both sides.
(b) Sprinkle some mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
(c) Put one layer of the noodles on top of the sauce and cheese.
(d) Cover the layer of noodles with some sauce and cheese.
(e) Repeat step d until you are out of sauce or until it's high enough. The top part of the lasagna should be covered with the most cheese. Just make sure that the noodles are coated with sauce on both sides so that they will cook in the oven.
(f) Bake the lasagna at 350 degrees farenheit (about 170 degrees celcius) for around 30-45 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown.
(g) Tah dah! Fresh from the oven~
(h) Serve and eat! XD
Ubaydah enjoyed the lasagna with a side salad, baked breaded fish strips and some ice tea.
There you go. A simple guide on how to make a simple lasagna.
Have a good night and hope you try it!
Oyasumi-nasai! =)
