Who are these people?

Hey everyone, Ubaydah's here~ How are you guys doing? I'm a little sick but other than that, I'm alright.

Some of you may be wondering who are all those names and pictures who supposedly write on this blog on my behalf? Maybe not, who knows? This is just an idea that I got from reading other people's blog and I think it's fun to do this. Thus, let me properly introduce you guys to them.

You know how people like to name their stuff such as their mobile phones, laptops, cameras, stuffed animals, and many other things. I do that too and I like to use my favourite anime/manga characters' names when doing that.

So here they are:

Haruhi (name originated from Suzumiya Haruhi in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu)

Yep, she's actually my mobile phone. Nothing fancy but I don't need anything fancy. As long as I can make calls, text other people, costomize my own ringtones and take simple pictures, I'm content. =)

Makie (name originated from Sasaki Makie in Negima!)

She's my iPod! The screen is not functional anymore but I can still listen to some of my favourite music of all time. I lost most of those music after I reformatted my old laptop. I got a new iPod recently btw and I'm gonna introduce you guys to her in a while.

Sakura (name originated from Kinomoto Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura)

She's actually my external hard drive (500GB). In that hard drive are all my movies, music, TV series, and animes!

Natsume (name originated from Natsume Inc. who produced the video game Harvest Moon)

Yep, Natsume is my laptop. This laptop has been very kind to me. It's new, fast, and awesome!

Let me introduce to you guys a new addition to the family:

Kagami (name originated from Hiiragi Kagami in Lucky Star).

This is actually coincidental because that's a picture of Hiiragi Kagami from Lucky Star on your left. Kagami's my new iPod. This iPod is so cool because now I can listen to music and watch my favourite series.

So that's that! This blog has been so much fun so far for me and I hope it can continue on to be like that. I enjoyed drawing all these characters and color them. I'm don't have an art coloring software so all the characters were colored using 'paint' which is why they are a little sloppy. Those characters were also sketched based on existing game/manga/anime characters because I just don't know how to draw stuff from scratch (I didn't trace them though). I'm also pretty lazy, that's why I just drew all those characters using a normal mechanical pencil. Gomen-ne!

Spring Break! Woohoo!

Hello everyone! お元気ですか?

It's Spring Break! Birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, great time to be outside! Unfortunately, it has been raining ever since the break started. Furthermore, Ubaydah also has been working in the lab since Monday. He said it's not that bad because he gets to learn how to design primers for PCR and that's a useful thing to know.

Since it's a school break, all the coffee and dining places around campus closes at around 3-5pm so it's not a good thing for Ubaydah who wakes up at 2pm and arrives at work at around 3pm.

Great news, Ubaydah's gonna be teaching BIO 115A again next quarter! Congratulation! XD

今日は! Haruhi-desu!

Ubaydah just finished grading all his students' works. All he needs to do now is to tally up their points and come up with a final grade for each of them. He told me that he's probably going to do that tomorrow though. Hope he'll finish that quickly because he has a final on Friday. I'm just hoping that he'll have enough time to cover all the materials by Friday. Don't study at the last minute like last time ok? X0

This quarter is coming to an end...

Hi, my name is Sakura...

I haven't written anything in a while. Just to let you know, this quarter is coming to an end. It's already week 9 and on Monday, it's going to be week 10 followed by Finals week... In Cal Poly Pomona, there are four quarters in a year and each quarter lasts 11 weeks including Finals week. Ubaydah will face one final exam and then that's it. Um... good luck...

He already finished his seminar presentation and it went well according to him. He got 73.14/75.00 which I think is not bad right? He still has to grade a bunch of papers and submit his students' final grades though before the quarter ends. After that, it's going to be Spring Break... in which most of that time will be spent by him in the lab... Don't work too hard ok?

Good news, Ubaydah will be a T.A. (Teaching Associate) again for next quarter (Spring 2011) and he will be teaching the same class too (BIO 115A - Basic Biology Activity). That's nice... :)

Um... for the past few days, Ubaydah hasn't been feeling well... It's no big deal though, just some coughs and runny nose. He said they were annoying. Um... get well soon ok?

I guess that's it for tonight... by the way, there's a website that has comic strips about grad students and Ubaydah found out that he can really relate himself to the strips. The title is 'Piled Higher and Deeper' and can be found at  http://www.phdcomics.com/. It's a really cool site...
